individuals who received a commuted sentence under Obama are female, according to Amy Povah, a former federal inmate who runs the CAN-DO Foundation, a nonprofit that advocates for nonviolent prisoners convicted of drug crimes.
“He has an obligation, a responsibility to increase the number of women,” she said in a recent interview with The Huffington Post. “We are counting down the days left. It is a very stressful time.”
