Business Insider publishes our Open Letter seeking clemency for more women

CAN-DO Founder Amy Povah collaborated with The Council* to write an ‘Open Letter’ to President Obama which was published in Business Insider on Dec 12, 2016.  CAN-DO coordinated with other advocacy organizations plus reached out to, and secured 42 clemency recipients who attached their name to the letter.  Our main concern was due to the many prisoners being denied clemency, such as Alice Johnson – #1 on the CANDO Top 25 women who deserved clemency, who fit all the criteria of Clemency Project 2014.  More specifically the volume of women and pot prisoners denied or passed over by the Obama administration is tragic.  The open letter (at the end of the article) requested a reconsideration of a several men and women who we believe were wrongfully denied clemency.     Read the entire story.
