WHY A COMMUTATION SHOULD BE GRANTED:

  • Has served over 10 years with clear conduct.
  • Lisa is a well-decorated US Army veteran, having served 2 tours overseas.
  • Lisa strove to become an attorney – and became an E-5 Court Reporter in the Army,
leaving after 5 years service to attend college and law school.
  • Lisa entered law school on a full academic scholarship.
  • Was listed in the Who’s Who Among American Law School Students
  • In the last year of law school, Lisa lost her only son, Steven, who died of a
    seizure in his sleep.
  • Her Grandmother Hanna, who Lisa was very close to, passed away soon after – this
caused Lisa to enter a deep depression and turn to drugs.
  • Passed the Indiana Bar Exam in 1998, but was never sworn in.
  • Lisa was in a well-documented abusive marriage with Scott Badders, who
    hospitalized her three times.
  • To her credit, she broke the cycle of abuse, left Scott, moved away
and went to work for the MP Smith and Associates law firm.
  • After Lisa left Scott, he was arrested 6 months later with drugs, a firearm, and
marked bills.  He implicated Lisa for a drastic sentence reduction.
  • Scott has several prior convictions that include violence and he has been out of
prison for six years. In that time, he has received TWO DUIs.
  • Lisa received more time than any of her co-defendants – disparity of sentencing.
  • Lisa was by many accounts, the least culpable defendant, yet is the only person
still in prison – except for one defendant who was re-arrested.
  • Two co-defendants, Shawn Haller and Brandie Burr have written affidavits
casting doubt upon the allegations made against Lisa.

HEALTH RELATED ISSUES:

  • In 1988, Lisa had surgery to correct a slight overbite. An oral surgeon performed
a LeForte Osteotomy, which was not successful. In 1989 she let the same oral surgeon
try to correct the previous surgery together with a plastic surgeon. They grafted bone
from her hip to her (upper plate) and to this day, Lisa’s maxillary (upper jaw) is collapsed
as a result.  One week after the surgery, Lisa’s pelvis shattered and she almost bled to death.
    (See Bio )
  • Due to this botched surgery, Lisa has scar tissue and chronic pain in the back of her hip.
  • Lisa has had asthma since the 1980s
  • Hysterectomy in the spring of 2005
  • Blood pressure spiked after the hysterectomy
  • Discovered an aneurysm of aorta during a CT scan in 2009.
  • In 2008, Lisa’s mother survived a complete right-sided mastectomy, which is why
Lisa transferred to Coleman, Florida, to be closer, but her mother cannot travel to visit Lisa.
